It is quite possible the folks ejected here will live for several minutes, even possibly staying conscious for a surprisingly length of time, certainly long enough to see the ship depart from view. That said, I would think it likely Boid would rescue them if it is possible. Also, as far as saving the robot bird who would survive space for indefinite amount of time... think about it. Alone in the void. Nothing but your thoughts to keep you company. In general, nothing good can come of being ejected into space from your craft. Empty space is a slow, horrible way to die.
