Back in the day when Larry and I tried our collective hands at dead-tree comics we met and befriended a young, unspoiled soul named Steve Conley. He went on to become a big wheel in both the Baltimore Comicon and the Small Press Expo. He continues to work in comics and has a new webcomic out called Socks and Barney. It is a political satire from the perspective of the pets of the Presidents and even though there are only two strips up at the moment, you should check it out.
