By Jove, I think he’s got it….
February 26th, 2007Yeah, I did some more sketchin’ and experimenting and I think I’m satisfied - for this week anyway! Here’s a look at what the characters will look like. I still need to work on the backgrounds, but they will mostly be tree limbs and various perches. Until Steve writes the script where they fly into the Sistine Chapel…

Hey Larry! These sketches look great, they’re really cool! I like the fourth one, though he doesn’t seem to fit in so well with the others…But I can’t wait to see more!
Keep up the good work!

I have to agree with Michael. LOVE the 4th ‘boid’.

Wow! Those look a lot more comicy (

Uh… what happened?
Anyway, I said those look great and asked whether we’ll be able to distinguish between different characters of birds? (If that’s necessary)
Wish you a nice (upcoming) weekend

Thanks Stefan - not sure what you mean by “what happened?” - did you have a glitch with the comments system? Lemme know… As for distinguishing between birds of the same species - that’s another challenge, but I hope to pull that off. You guys will let me know if I succeed! Scott and Michael - the fourth character IS Boid. He’s a boid and the other 3 are birds… It’ll all make sense soon enough. Thanks for the comments, keep ‘em comin’!

Hi Larry, hope you had a pleasant weekend.
Yes, I managed to “glitch the matrix”. I wanted to post a left-facing arrow (pointy bracket + minus) and everything that followed got swallowed.
Looking forward to seeing your work!

say, I have a question for you webcomic makers. Is this your job? or is it some sort of side thing and you have another job that puts bread on the table?
Good art, cant wait to see the Sistine Chapel! just joking.

Unfortunately, no, cartooning is not our full-time job(s), but we’re working on it. And who knows? If Boids becomes the “next” (insert widely read and loved cartoon here) it might turn out to be. But that’s a bit down the road, and depends on you folks, the readers, liking it enough to demand that we allow you to pay us for it.

Oh, gotcha on the Boid comment. As much as I’ve been dealing with a certain robot lately, you’d think I’d be the first to figure that out.

Hey
We need a BOIDS update!
What’s new?
March 20th, 2007 at 11:04 pm
yea, there hasn’t been one in almost a month. I hope nothing happened and Larry/Steve is in the hospital or sick or something.

Hey guys - we’re good, no worries! Just been very busy and SOME of that business has been Boids strips. I’ll put up a new post very soon, I promise…

Hey Larry, I really love the birds and the Boid (which reminds me fondly of an origami bird that my grandmother made for me when I was seven).
Great work, I can’t wait to see the comic in action!

Looking forward to the next update.
